Connectivity
This pillar encompasses the NREN’s strategic priorities related to the provision of connectivity for its members and end-users, and has objectives that specifically address the connectivity needs of the NREN’s stakeholders including but not limited to building and operationalizing the NREN’s network infrastructure, strengthening the campus networks and building the requisite human capacities needed to build, operate and maintain the information highways. This pillar defines the NREN and is critical for its mission. 1. Facilitating the interconnection of member universities by building out the REN’s network infrastructure 2. Strengthening campus network infrastructures through the promotion of relevant best practices and provision of technical assistance 3. Developing the technical capacities of the universities’ ICT staff to ensure a smooth operation of not only the campus network but the whole NREN network operations 4. Developing and commissioning communications and collaboration services on the network infrastructure

Community
