Wireless Campus Design and Monitoring

16 engineers from 15-member universities of Somali Research and Education Network (SomaliREN) were participated Technical Workshop. The topic of the workshop was “Wireless Campus Design and Monitoring”.

This three-day workshop was held at EAU, Garowe from 21-24 December 2017. The main purpose of the training workshop was to develop the technical skills of the network engineers at the member universities. The participants of the workshop were go through the principles and components of designing scalable campus wireless network and monitoring services. Throughout the workshop the lesson learned from regional NRENs and adopted best practices of designing and implementing wireless campus networks were discussed as well the participants were carry out hands-on exercises to develop their skills.

This workshop was part of series capacity building programs to be organized by SomaliREN every year to enable the member institutions to take full advantage of the upcoming connectivity.
