Campus Network Design and Implementations

17 engineers from 15 member universities of Somali Research and Education Network (SomaliREN) were participated Technical Workshop. The topic of the workshop was “Campus Network Design and Implementations”

This three-day workshop was held at SomaliREN HQ, Mogadishu from 11-13 October 2017. The main purpose of the training workshop was to develop the technical skills of the network engineers at the member universities. The participants of the workshop were go through the process of designing and implementing campus networks and its operations. Throughout the workshop the lesson learned from regional NRENs and adopted best practices of designing and optimization of university campus networks were discussed as well as reviewing the current ICT infrastructure of the member institutions.

This workshop was part of series capacity building programs to be organized by SomaliREN every year to enable the member institutions to take full advantage of the upcoming connectivity.
