Enhancing Higher Education: SomaliREN Completes Training of Trainers Workshop on Innovative Teaching Approaches
We are delighted to announce the successful completion of a two-day Training of Trainers workshop on “Innovative Approaches of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.” This event brought together over 50 lecturers from SomaliREN member institutions, providing a dynamic platform to explore advanced teaching methodologies, refine their instructional strategies, and enrich student learning experiences.
Facilitated by a panel of distinguished experts, including Prof. Abdirizak Mohamed Aden (Lafole), Chairman of SomaliREN; Prof. Abdirahman Sheikhdon, Principal of Garowe Teachers Education College; and Prof. Abdirizak Mohamed Hashi, founder of Bakka Training Center, the workshop offered participants valuable insights into cutting-edge educational techniques. These sessions emphasized interactive and innovative approaches to education, equipping lecturers with the tools needed to engage students more effectively and create meaningful learning environments.
The workshop not only provided a valuable learning opportunity for participants but also marked the beginning of a broader initiative. SomaliREN plans to extend this training to other member institutions, ensuring that more educators have access to these innovative approaches and can continue to enhance the quality of higher education across the network.
As we move forward, SomaliREN remains committed to fostering innovation in teaching and learning, supporting educators in their pursuit of excellence, and ultimately advancing the quality of education throughout Somalia.
